The Paddle System (and Why It Matters)
The paddle system is how we organize play. When you arrive, place your paddle in the designated spot in the rack to get in line. The paddle line moves from left to right, just follow the flow. There’s a small arrow on the rack if you’re ever unsure. As courts open up, the next group of paddles rotates onto the court. After your game, come off and place your paddle back in line. It keeps things fair and keeps games moving. We also have three sections, 3.0, 3.5, and a Challenge

Start here: Courtside Ladder League
Sometimes you just want to play. The Courtside Ladder League is a simple, low-pressure way to get on the court and enjoy good games without ratings or tracking. There’s no DUPR attached. The format is easy to follow. Each game day, you play within your group, and your results determine where you start the next session. Strong results move you up. Tougher days move you down. Over time, this naturally leads to more balanced matchups. The structure stays in the background. What

What DUPR Is and Why We Use It
If you’ve spent any time around pickleball, you’ve probably heard the term DUPR. It might sound technical at first, but the idea behind it is actually very simple and incredibly helpful. DUPR stands for Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating. It’s a global rating system designed to measure a player’s skill level based on actual match results. Instead of guessing where you fit, DUPR gives you a number that reflects how you play on the court. Learn more or create your profile here

The Future of Competitive Play
Weekly reseeding using DUPR • Three divisions • Play when you can—no penalties • Lots of games throughout the season! A new way to play. A better experience for players. At HOPA, we believe competitive play should be fair, flexible, and exciting every time you step on the court. Traditional leagues often follow a fixed structure—same teams, same matchups, and standings that can become predictable early in the season. Our Season-Long Competitive League was designed differently
