ABOUT HILLSBORO OHIO PICKLEBALL ASSOCIATION, INC
The MISSION of HOPA is:
To grow the sport of pickleball through the promotion and teaching of the game, with a focus on amateur athletes improving their skills to move to higher levels of competitive play.
To promote pickleball related projects, for all ages and skill levels, while encouraging sportsmanship, fellowship, fun and exercise.
THE SPORT OF PICKLEBALL
The sport of pickleball was invented in 1965 as a children's backyard game in the United States, on Bainbridge Island in Washington State and became a Washington state sport in 2022. The sport has grown in popularity to include over 8,000 pickleball locations in the United States in 2022. With the increased interest in this team sport, many individuals may be interested in participating but not have a local team or league. Hillsboro Ohio Pickleball Association has been organized to foster pickleball players at a higher level in our community.

Team Players will be required to complete a registration form and abide by a code of conduct. Practices and games will be held throughout the season as scheduled. The organization will participate in regional play and tournaments to advance their competitive play.
Team Players will pay a program fee and will need to purchase their own uniforms and equipment separately, should that be required in that specific program.
