Weekly reseeding using DUPR • Three divisions • Play when you can—no penalties • Lots of games throughout the season!
A new way to play. A better experience for players.
At HOPA, we believe competitive play should be fair, flexible, and exciting every time you step on the court. Traditional leagues often follow a fixed structure—same teams, same matchups, and standings that can become predictable early in the season.
Our Season-Long Competitive League was designed differently.
This format is built around the idea that competitive play should evolve as players improve, creating a system that stays engaging and balanced all season long. The result is a league experience that is dynamic, merit-based, and truly centered on the player.
A MODERN COMPETITIVE STRUCTURE
Instead of short leagues with fixed teams and rigid standings, this league runs as a season-long competitive pathway. Players return week after week to a system that continually adjusts based on performance.
Each session feels fresh. Matchups change, divisions adjust, and every game contributes to a meaningful competitive narrative that unfolds throughout the season.
The structure allows players to experience competition that is structured yet flexible, ensuring that the league remains welcoming while still rewarding performance.
SKILL BASED PLAY THAT EVOLVES WITH YOU
One of the most powerful elements of this league is the weekly reseeding system.
Players are placed into divisions based on their current DUPR rating, ensuring that games stay competitive and balanced.
As your game improves, your placement evolves with you. You may even move divisions within the season.
There are three skill divisions:
Division 1: 3.5+
Division 2: 3.0–3.5
Division 3: 2.0–3.0
This approach removes guesswork and keeps the focus where it belongs—on playing great games against players at a similar level.
ROTATING PARTNERS
Another feature that players love is the rotating partner round-robin format.
Instead of playing with the same partner all season, players rotate partners within their division.
This creates a number of benefits:
You meet more players. You experience different styles of play. You develop a more adaptable and well-rounded game. Most importantly, it removes the stress of finding a partner or worrying about being locked into a fixed team.
PLAY WHEN YOU CAN
Life gets busy. Work schedules change. Vacations happen. Traditional leagues often penalize players for missing sessions, but this format is intentionally built to be flexible.
If you miss a week, you simply return and are placed based on your current rating.
There are no penalties for missed sessions, and players can participate whenever they are able to attend. This flexibility makes the league sustainable for players who want consistent competition without rigid obligations.
A SEASON THAT BUILDS MOMENTUM
The league runs from April 15 through September 13, with play scheduled twice each week:
Wednesdays: 6–8 PM
Sundays: 6-8 PM
Over the course of approximately 22 weeks, players have the opportunity to participate in 40–44 game days. That means more opportunities to compete, improve, and enjoy the game alongside the community.
DESIGNED FOR COMMUNITY
This format isn’t just about competition. It’s about building a thriving pickleball community.
The rotating partners, flexible attendance, and evolving divisions create an environment where players naturally connect and improve together.
Players find themselves playing alongside familiar faces while constantly meeting new members of the club.
The season develops its own rhythm and story—one that unfolds week after week on the courts.
WHY THIS FORMAT?
This structure has several key advantages that make it especially effective for modern pickleball communities.

Skill-based divisions protect players from mismatched games.
